Sauvage Eau de Parfum was announced in January 2018 and has already reached the main Brazilian stores. François Demachy, Dior's perfumer, was inspired by the desert in the magical hour of twilight. In 2015, Sauvage Eau de Toilette made an impact on the market (after all, it's a Dior) and made a huge movement in forums and social media that discuss the perfumery. Throughout the world, numerous bloggers and youtubers have commented on the fragrance and everything about it, such as originality, quality, etc. Not to mention the comparisons made with fragrances of other brands. Now comes the turn of a new Sauvage, theoretically with greater concentration and with some changes in composition. The main notes were maintained: Calabrian bergamot, lavender, Sichuan pepper and ambroxan. The novelty came through warmer notes such as nutmeg, star anise and vanilla absolute from Papua New Guinea. According to the perfumer: "I didn't create Sauvage Eau de Parfum by working on power. Its signature is already very identifiable. It was not a matter of exaggerating or saturating the composition. I was striving more to enrich each of the dominant notes to give it a new colour". Did it work? On my skin, Sauvage Eau de Parfum opens less fresh and more full-bodied. The soapy smell that many people criticize in the EDT version (which was never present or annoyed my sense of smell) became more alive this time. Quickly, the lavender appears and brings a very strong camphoraceous content, which did not exist in the previous version. In about ten minutes, the anise appears and imparts more chilled and aromatic nuances. However, few people mentioned this note in their reviews, which reinforces the importance of testing on your own skin. On me, it became very noticeable during much of evolution. When the fragrance reaches this stage, little seems to change. Then, the ambroxan comes up and brings its musky nuances when, in fact, I expected something more full-bodied, even more in an olfactory pyramid that carries absolute of vanilla. And here is the negative point of this fragrance: frustration. Not only mine, but from everyone who has already tested and published something about it. It seems that the great expectation on Sauvage Eau de Parfum and the use of vanilla and nutmeg notes was precisely to find the fragrance of Sauvage EDT with a greater depth and a warmer, sweeter and nocturnal content. And that did not happen! The difference between the two fragrances can be noticed by those who know and wear them frequently or have a slightly more accurate sense of smell. But in general, the standard user - the one who goes to the store looking for new launches, can not identify notes and is attached only to olfactory families (woody, aromatic, etc.) - will not notice differences because, truth be told and still that seems contradictory, they deliver a very similar result. In terms of projection and durability, Sauvage Eau de Parfum is incredible! Unlike the EDT version, which causes me a certain olfactory fatigue and does not seem to exhale more after a while, this one exudes all the time. None of them have long range, but they work for those around. The durability is also greater, as well as evolution, which changes over time, while the EDT version always behaved linearly on my skin. In particular, this fragrance has conquered me. I always liked the original, but now I see qualities that were not present in the other. I love knowing that I can wear a Dior Sauvage and feel it all the time, in addition to noticing small changes over the hours. The versatility also remains the same. I can not see this perfume just for night use or more formal occasions. Indeed, was very bad not feeling the vanilla I wanted to feel, but something tells me that this will be solved in an upcoming version, probably called Parfum or Absolute. Last but not least, it's worth talking about the bottle. The photos posted on the internet are deceptive! We look at them and think that the glass has an orange gradient color at the base, but the jars are identical in hands. In my opinion, the man of Dior Sauvage is the same. He just decided to change the look a bit and reinvented himself in order to catch the eye of those who have never noticed his presence before. Mar262018 www.fragrantica.com by: Sanja Pekic In 2018, Dior introduces the new edition of Dior Sauvage, originally launched in 2015, in an Eau de Parfum interpretation. Dior‘s in-house perfumer François Demachy imagines the Eau de Parfum as revealing new facets of Sauvage. The composition with oriental and vanilla facets is described as enveloping, suave, mysterious and sensual. Photo: Fragrantica The composition keeps some of the notes from the original, like bergamot, Sichuan pepper, lavender and ambroxan and enriches them with spices and warm, oriental tones of star anise, nutmeg and papua vanilla. Johnny Depp Fan@OldChef How does he cost them sales? IT'S BEEN A BEST-SELLER FOR THREE YEARS. They know what they're doing. Johnny Depp is a legendary actor and nowhere near washed up.
Jan112018
OldChefJohnny Depp costs them sales, the clown is a parody of an actor, and washed up too!

dubairobI am really pleased Demachy has chosen to add star anise to the EDP. Sauvage is essentially a fougere fragrance and some of the greatest fougeres have had this note in abundance. Clever move.
It will mean that the licorice-like facet of the original will be more pronounced....could be really something for those who enjoy that.
Jan102018
mikemuscles21JUST A PERFUME?? JUST A PERFUME?? It's never JUST perfume. We LOVE our PERFUME! Lol jk
Jan102018
scottpiperIt’s just a perfume, folks. Take a step back and breathe. The sun will rise again tomorrow.
Jan102018
mikemuscles21Thank you JustinSlayer, and not to beat this issue to death, but part of the problem is that when you use a celebrity, everyone associates the fragrance with that person. They aren't left to picture themself wearing it. The fragrances takes on the persona of the spokesperson to some degree. This can be fine for fans, but what about everyone else. Too much power is wielded by the celebrity. All it takes is one false move (sexual harassment accusations, I'm looking at you James Franco and Coach), political leanings, etc. Even if the accusations are untrue, the brand suffers. Models and Supermodels I can understand because perfume has often been tied closely with fashion. I think there are always exceptions. Like when they launch their own fragrance it can sometimes work. I would very much like to see the sales numbers of the droves of teenage girls that charged there way into Sephora to buy Kat Von D's fragrances. Or Chris Hemsworth, but Boss had a "business man" market already so there was little doubt Boss Tonic would sell to at least to their markets. The problem is many perfume companies are treating the industry like the Record Companies treated the Compact Disc market years ago. 20 years ago if someone walked into a boardroom and said we should stream all the music online and charge people, they would have been laughed at. Julia Roberts, Mathew M, etc, do these people speak to millenials? Julia Roberts fans are getting older lol, once they croak who's gonna buy Lancome? Millenials are on YouTube, active in other ways. Who was the last Julia Roberts fan that was generation Y? It seems like these marketing people just use a celebrity as a lazy way to get the maximum amount of attention fast, without realizing how it tarnishes their brand. Instead of associating Dior as one of the classic old French houses, people may associate it with Captain Jack Sparrow, or Edward Scissorhands. If you are a luxury product, celebrities should go to You, not you to them. Find another way to get attention, use your imagination, create a fantasy. Did you go to marketing school? Lol! Don't give so much power to one person.
Jan092018
César TanJohnny Depp on that picture looks like a 70 year old pirate...who left by his wife for his young co pirate.
Though i am indifferent about Johnny Depp advertising Sauvage Dior, i agree with Mikemuscles on the subject of using celebrities.
I used to relish seeing impossibly carved physiques on unknown models with incredible looks. Examples are:
1. Chris Watson's Kouros which is my favourite of all time.
2. Sean O'Pry for Paco Rabanne's 1 Million.
3. Jean Kotjarena for JPG's Kokorico.
And many more.
I am looking forward to buying a 200ml of this EDP. Blind-buy for sure!
Jan092018
mikemuscles21I agree with the celebrity complaints. I am so sick of seeing celebrities in perfume ads. That whole concept is so tired. It's so predictable and banal. There is something very 5 minutes ago about it. No, not 5 minutes, longer then that. Anyway, it's old, boring, tired, dead, RIP. Lets go back to launching careers of sexy models with unrealistic bodies. After all, that is what all of us want isn't it? Perfume is a fantasy, and an unrealistic image of sexiness or beauty is pleasant to look at. As much as everyone says -Don't objectify-. At the end of the day your not going to put a guy with a dad bod, a gut, and big flabby love handles in a perfume ad. Nobody wants to see That, just like they don't want to see Johnny Deps big head. Of course unrealistic body image issues bla bla. So why not just put images of fit healthy people. Or let's launch careers of new attractive interesting people! C'mon already! Look, don't expect yourself to look like the girl in the perfume add. But it's about the fantasy. And if we can't agree with what type of model to use, at the end of the day just use a cat. Lanvin was ahead of its time with My Sin. Google it. That black kitty is more of a model then Naomi, Gabriel, or Cindy ever were. My opinion is, this add would have been more powerful with just the wolves. Picture it. I hope they were fed well and treated nicely.

Johnny Depp Fan@NevaehGilpon
Then you need an eye test ASAP. He is beautiful inside and out.
@La DameDeNoir
Johnny is as cool as ever. He IS a fine actor, an attractive man, and is doing some very good films. His career appears to be back on track after suffering through domestic abuse at the hands of that witch. Problems in personal and professional life happen to everyone all the time, doesn't mean it's the end of the world. He said he took drugs ages ago, not lately. And he IS one of the greatest, that's why Dior has been working with him for years.
@Hawaiiangirl
The only eyesore here is you. He is making a lot of people buy his fragrance and that's why it's been a best-seller for 3 years, that's simply a fact whether you like it or not.
If he is a "washed up character actor" how come he is the fifth highest grossing actor of 2017? His two blockbusters made over a billion dollars combined.
And if you think this is what someone who smokes meth and shoots heroin looks like, then you need some Googling to do. You also need to Google this article "Johnny Depp Is Being Blackmailed by Amber Heard – Here’s How I Know (Guest Column)"
The Golden Globe winning Mr. Depp is the one and only choice for his gorgeous scent.
Jan082018
guest_I understand that 'round these here parts, ambroxan is The Devil Himself.
To me, though, the edt revolves around that beautiful pepper. No,I'm not going to lie and say that I could identify it as Sichuan (or that I even know how to spell "Sichuan" without help), but it's a standout for sure.
I'll sample the edp when it comes out and take it from there, leaving the Depp drama to the fine folks at TMZ!
Jan072018
Luna_JIf you read my comments below, you'll see that I am circumspect at best regarding a Sauvage Parfum (I admit that the aggressive linearity of the original Sauvage EDT was a turn-off for me, and that the use of the name 'Sauvage', confusing the relationship with the original Eau Sauvage, added insult to injury.) That said, some of these comments are pretty absurd. Let's please leave Hollywood gossip out of the equation if possible, and not go overboard with the vulgar American bashing while we're at it! Many wonderful fragrances are produced by American Houses, obviously.
Jan072018
mshilov@La DameDeNoirFrench houses now are oriented exclusively at american market, that's why we face with more and more creepy scents with creepy characters promoting them. Banality and lack of class are the quintessence of american style, you should look at Johnny and smell Sauvage or look at Angelina and smell Mon Guerlain to understand this. Unfortunately Deneuve and Co. as muses of extradionary perfumes are gone forever, and only niche brands nowadays time to time provide the quality which was before a trademark of Chanel and YSL, not yet destroyed by american taste and american 'heroines'.
Jan072018
gris_soleilWhile I understand that campaign is more than the sum of its parts and everyone has varying taste, I do wish we would discuss the product and its presentation without insults. The beauty of perfumery and the joy I get from this hobby somehow gets tainted by the negativity.
C'mon, it's Edward Scissorhands pushing something called Sauvage! Ok, I'm ready for the the down votes.
Jan072018
alextang2kI always like DIOR PERFUMES , but they are really expensive to have ....
Jan072018
La DameDeNoir@Johnny Depp Fan
Johnny was cool years ago. But, for me, alas, he is not such thing any longer.
He was a fine actor, an atractive man, and has done some very good films. But in the last years, he seems to be willing to destroy his own carreer. Bad movies and even worse performances in them, troubles with drugs (and, as some previous reviewer noted before, he himself admited to have taken drugs), problems with the tax authorities, scandals... Pity, he could have been one of the greatests.
Second, this could have pass for a brand like Tommy Hilfigher, Calvin Klein, Etat Libre d'Orange... but...for Dior? Good Heavens! No way! Dior was a synomine of Frech classicism and beauty, and there is nothing remotely classic or beautiful in this.
Last, but not lest. What has happened to all classic French houses, which were once harbingers of chic and elegance? Why are they so eager in making horrible advertising with lousy American celebrities? The Chanel commercial with Kirsten Stewart looked abslutely ridiculous; the Lancôme one with Julia Roberts gave me the creeps. Where did go all the beautiful advertising of Chanel or YSL, with gorgeous actresses like Carole Bouquet or Catherine Deneuve...? Why are they no longer interested in making such advs..?
Jan072018
mshilov@La DameDeNoir Hahaha, Filipino male prostitute, exactly! And the angry one, who was not paid properly for his services )))))
Jan072018
Johnny Depp Fan@MARTIN SR
Your comment is too late. He's been the face of Dior Sauvage for 3 years and it remains a best-seller thanks to him.
@lulu169
No one? Speak for yourself. Millions of women find him sexy.
@La DameDeNoir He is 54 and looks 34, doesn't need any pretending. He has youthful appearance and energy, which is why he's still the biggest movie star in the world after over 33 years in the business. He is aging gracefully and looking like the gorgeous icon he is.
@Hawaiiangirl First of all, he was falsely accused by one lying gold digger who was arrested for domestic violence against her ex female partner and tried to wipe it off her record right before she started dating him. The police found no evidence he did anything, all his non-gold digging exes (including a woman who spent 14 years with him) came forward to say he was never abusive, and his one and only accuser withdrew her accusations with prejudice instead of proving them. Second of all, he merely made an "assassination" joke about Trump. It wasn't serious at all.
The collaboration with him has been very profitable for Dior, so of course they haven't dropped him just because some internet trolls are offended.
@NevaehGilpon Clearly the general public thinks he's a great choice, considering they've been buying it for 3 years. He wouldn't be able to work on high profile projects as much as he does if he were actually "on meth and probably all kinds of other drugs." He's nowhere near being a creep. Amber Heard is the wife beater, she was arrested for it. Being abused, set up & blackmailed makes him a victim, not a creep. And fuck Trump forever.
Jan072018
NevaehGilponI agree. I think Johnny Depp is a horrible choice for promoting Sauvage. He looks like he's on meth and probably all kinds of other drugs. I've always thought he was a creep but the wife beating and President assassination stuff just makes him that much worse.
Jan072018
jabarAnnouncement was leaked several months ago, now excited to hear it's finally arriving!
Jan072018
La DameDeNoirWhat a thrill. A flanker of a flanker. And it has ambroxan and pepper. And it is signed by François Demarchy [ironic mode /OFF].
Once upon a time, Dior was synonime of French clasicism, elegance, chic and good taste. That was long time ago.
And I totally agree with mshilov. Johnny Depp, 50 something, pretending he is stil 30, and looking more and more like a slovenly Filipino male prostitute with a serious drug withdrawal...
Jan072018
lulu169OMG what a failed ad! no one want to see the raw old face of J. Depp Close up, signed with overuse of drugs & cigaretts...#notsexy
Jan072018
Mikeyb50Well I guess this was inevitable think of Bleu de Chanel EDT and then Bleu de Chanel EDP following 2 years later. This is the same scenario and looking at the notes it will follow the same premise of just sweetening up the original. So take the original Sauvage and and more sugar by introducing vanilla and star anise. I expect the quality to be typical Dior which is not a bad thing. Francios DeMachy is a master at his game and will always produce a quality product regardless of originality. Sauvage is a quality if not innovative product which 9 out of 10 will like. I was recently in Guyana over Christmas and wore this over there and in the hotel at breakfast the lady on reception asked me what I was wearing as it smelt so good. I told her it was Dior Sauvage which Dior isn't sold in Guyana. I went up to my hotel room and gave her my bottle which had around 10ml left and she was chuffed to bits
Jan072018
drakecito"Johnny looks great. I like that they didn't Photoshop him to death" ?? xxDDDD
"Francois Demachy is a genius. " ?? xDDD
This site every time brings me more fun moments. Thanks to everyone for it!
Jan072018
dolcethadonI just knew this was coming! There was no way after the massive success of Dior Sauvage that Dior would pass up on the opportunity to capitalize by releasing other variations of Sauvage.. I can say that I am happy they chose to make an "Eau De Parfum" variation instead of a "Sport" flanker or something of that nature.. So much of the Sauvage hate eventually turned to love & I expect the same will happen with this one.. I am sure that this Sauvage Eau De Parfum will be just as polarizing as the original Sauvage Eau De Toilette.. Adding spices & vanilla to the Sauvage DNA sounds quite odd but I can't wait to see how it turns out! I have a feeling I am going to enjoy this one the same or maybe even more than I enjoy the Eau De Toilette! I also love how the ad campaign has the same vibe as the original yet this time the sun is going down & the wolves have come out to play! Can't wait to get my nose on this one!
Jan062018
mshilovOMG! Johnny with his hair blown out and a fancy bijou looks like a model from the poster in Thai beauty salon. I can't stop laughing. Highly anticipating Parfum version with even more weird image.
Jan062018
kinetisphereI've been saying this for 9 months yet nobody believed me..haaaaaa! :)~
Just like they questioned me about the female version of creed.
Maybe you should pay attention to the guy that ha insight on exclusive infromation.

Jan062018
jsantos444 mikemuscles21This sounds stunning. Francois Demachy is a genius. Even though I didn't care for the first one I love the Very Cool Body spray. I love most of his work. I think he will really make this interesting, can't wait to try it.
Jan062018
BuysblindLooking forward to trying this and hoping I like it a lot more than the EDT.
Jan062018
MoMo-1408the fragrance sounds good but .. tell your team to deal with fake votes
Jan062018
ghent32So they're adding nutmeg, star anise and vanilla to this - that sounds really good actually - Sauvage with a oriental tweak...
This is going to be one of the most anticipated releases in recent memory.
Jan062018
coasterfanI'm hopeful that this will actually be better than the EDT, which I'm not a fan of. But I'm not going to be a hater and vote before I actually get a chance to try it!
Jan062018
ameagarimen's fragcom is going to go insane for this, lol
Jan062018
psychocandyIf the bottle truly has a twilight fade applied to the glass with that subtle glow starting at the bottom then I’m impressed I like that, but I have a feeling the bottle will be just a dark blue...
Jan062018
genvyOh good because we all needed this
Jan062018
Luna_JDemachy's formula of adding oriental accents (vanilla, sticky resins and some burnt sugar notes) to existing compositions (Eau Sauvage, Fahrenheit, Dior Homme...) has not let him down yet, I suppose, but I am getting kind of bored with this basic premise that these notes = 'dark', 'mysterious', 'seductive' and evening-out-oriented. This kind of marketing lacks character to me. When I imagine some LVMH marketing exec planning my life as expressed in a series of 'plug and play', pillar & flanker options ('very cool'/regular/parfum, etc.) I feel rather like a ridiculous action figure or digital avatar in a video game... No amount of sympathetic coyotes can help me feel better about this, alas.
Jan062018
HawaiiangirlI can't stand the EDT to begin with, so I doubt the EDP will be much better. It looks as though they are making it into a more sweet, cold weather style version with the vanilla, nutmeg, and star anise. Sounds nauseating. Also Johnny Depp looks like a strung out heroin addict and if Dior is smart they would replace him with somebody less controversial.
Jan062018
lou6not a surprise of Dior making a EDP of Sauvage because his main opposite is Bleu de Chanel. At least, Chanel and Dior don't over-flankerize their fragrances line like YSL and dont make Aqua version of it.
Jan062018
Purpose@rmf1112
I know that's not how cologne works. What I mean is if women loved the EDT Sauvage so much they may love this even more. As much of a compliment monster as Sauvage is this may be even better....or just fall flat. Who knows...
Jan062018
junior halstonPut me down for a 100ml - I’m sold
Jan062018
rootattackHmm it was only a matter of time an edp version came out,the notes have changed so it should be interesting. And Johnny depp is looking a little rough in that portrait ad.Anyway looking forward to trying the edp .
Jan062018
ThatMakesScents HauteParfumGourmandHonestly wasn't a fan of the original, ambroxan never really sits right with me, either it doesn't work with my skin or it annoys my nose. I guess i'm optimistic that the vanilla (hopefully not cloyingly gourmand mind you) and other spices will smooth out the ambrox+ISO E combo? Kinda sad honestly how I have to dig up optimism in this day and age when it comes to most releases. Oh well, if you know what to look for there is still hope : D
FYI: Not a "hater" or elitist on either side of the argument, some people take themselves too seriously tbh.
Jan062018
MARTIN SRI believe Johnny Depp is a remarkable actor, Sauvage a well blended scent and Dior a superlative fashion house. But not many men, including myself want to identify with an actor who's been broke, old, has a weird way of dressing and speaks strangely. Dior always had a certain elegance and most of the faces of the house have been representing it well with the way they look and dress exceptionaly well, including Alain Delon, Sharon Stone, Marion Cotilard, Jamie Dornan, Natalie Portman, Eva Herzigova, Charlize Theron... but what is elegant and what is Dior about Johnny Depp?
Jan062018
rmf1112Lol @ purpose
Hilarious that you think thats how that works. Good thing you dont need charisma, intelligence, wit, or even good looks, because apparently if you have Sauvage edp, all women will rip their clothes off at the mere scent of you, just like those axe commercials, right?
I am not against people liking this, or any fragrance of course, but it'a just a fragrance folks, not some spanish fly holy grail.
Jan062018
Konga5000..... and what a cheap , cut-rate, little shopping list of ingredients.
I'm surprised "tap water" and "CVS rubbing alcohol" are not mentioned.
And oh-- does anyone have a Wash n' Dry for Johnny Depp's greasy face.
Thanks !
Jan062018
KentB27This will probably be the least surprising release of 2018. Everyone knew this was coming. I'm looking forward to trying it.
Jan062018
CElmlundI'm pretty sure one Sauvage in my wardrobe is enough, but I am interested to try the EdP. Maybe if it's different enough I could be enticed to get a bottle.

Dior Eau Sauvage Parfum ~ New Fragrances
by: Sanja Pekic
The legendary fresh masculine fragrance by Dior - Eau Sauvage from 1966, is re-interpreted and re-launched in spring of 2011 in stronger concentration as Eau Sauvage Parfum. This classic citrus-aromatic composition has been updated and enriched with mysterious accords of myrrh, together with dry and woody vetiver that emphasizes the masculine character of this fragrance. Its original creator is the famous perfumer Edmond Roudnitska, while the new edition is signed by the current in-house Dior perfumer, Francois Demachy. The revealed notes of the new composition are: bergamot on the top, myrrh resin in the heart and dry vetiver in the base.
Top notes: bergamot Heart: myrrh Base: vetiverDior Eau Sauvage Parfum is available from mid-May 2012 as 50 and 100 ml Eau de Parfum.

ArkangeLThat myrrh should cancel out a lot of that harsh, sharp old school citrus. The perfumer that created this specializes in Chypre fragrances it seems.

fazalcheemaeau sauvage being my signature fragrance and having over 2 liter of juice in all formats( original, extreme, fraicheur cuir), i guess i might have to sell 2 3.4oz fraicheur cuir to get budget for this fragrance..the only eau sauvage version i hate is the current one and selling my only bottle of current version..only the vintage eau sauvage is the way to go. hopefully edp is better than current edt
Mar292012

Mar292012
ABRAGI want to get,I expect that he is excellent and strong
Mar292012
junior halstonI don't know on this currently Dior is reformulated all this masculine eau parfumes to be much weaker in longevity and sillage. What would not make me think it would not be the same with this one?
Mar292012
jgirgarOne can only hope. If the longevity weren't the issue for the original edt I would own that as well. I'm looking forward to it. Sounds good and I'll put this on my wish list.
