The Spirit of Azuregos is usually seen when Azuregos has been downed. He patrols where the normal Azuregos would, and you can still talk to him, but he is harmless.

He only appears in phasing events. After the quest Quest:Wasn't It Obvious?, he appears temporarily in a phased version of the zone as the Spirit of Azuregos. After Quest:Turning the Tables, he appears permanently at the Northern Rocketway Terminus.
- According to Kalec, Azuregos doesn't make many friends and his taste in them tends to be a bit unique. A murloc named Ergll is one of them.[1] Azuregos even taught Ergll to speak.[2] As Azuregos was always trying to get his hands on magic artifacts he was also trying to make friends with the Archmage Xylem.[3]
- Ergll calls Azuregos "Azy."
- Archmage Xylem thinks that all the years of "vagabonds" assaulting Azuregos haven't done him much good making him a mite strange these days.[4]
- During the Gates of Ahn'Qiraj event, players had at one stage to speak with Azuregos. As Azuregos was likely to be killed within a few hours of spawning, this would have made the quest difficult, if not impossible, to complete. To avoid this the Spirit of Azuregos was added in southern Azshara, which could not be attacked or killed. Amusingly, the Spirit of Azuregos talks as if it is the real corporeal dragon, and tells players on the scepter quest that "I walk amongst savages in this cursed land! I cannot take five steps without some crazed orc or human trying to thrust a sharp stick into my hide. At any given time you could very well be speaking to my ghostly spirit."[5]

Tanking Azuregos is a pain in the ass >It pretty much helps if the people with you understand what they have to do when he teleports and basically all your aggro resets. If you have dots up on him of any kind (curses, sw:p or whatever) it will be very hard to regain aggro and no, taunt, mocking blow and others never worked, you'll need at least two warriors for the worst case scenario (taunt failed, you can't get aggro because people will continue dps thinking you have, even after you announce your failure). Does a frost breath but it's not that bad and FrR isn't quite necessary.
Find a safe spot that you can use for reference where to drag him back when you tank because if let loose, his breath will immobilise the person standing in its range.
My two cents, what worked for me etc. etc. maybe others do it easier but this is what I ran into!

In complete disagreement, I find baby blue eyes to be a push-over.Make sure everyone is withing 8 yards (hunter minimum range) and teleports are never a problem. Niether is aggro. (Getting PuG members to stand where they need to is hard, though).
When he kills you, you get a 15 (maybe 10) minute debuff. The name evades me, but it's something like Mark of Frost or Blue Affliction. Either way, it allows him to chain 5 minute non-dispellable stuns on you just by being near him. It was invented to keep people from zerging him. Once you're dead, you'll just die again if you don't wait out the timer.

Mark of Frost, that is correct.People need to be in his range to get the teleport but the problem is with starting dps right after the teleport, that almost always killed the encounter for me

Here is the basic rundown of what each class should and should not do:EVERYONE - Do: Get teleported, Move out of combat for mana and health, stay alive.Don't: Rez before MoF falls, run from Azuregos if you have aggro.
DRUID - Do: Shapeshift as necessary, assume role of healing, use HotsDon't: Cast from long range, Spam Moonfire
HUNTER - Do: Stay mobile and attack when possible, send your pet to attack and mobs thata dd during the fight, Feign Death to escape combat and eat/drink.Don't: Have pet growl,Fire from Max Range, Feign Death against Azuregos
MAGE - Do: Cast in bursts and use wand, Run out of range when teleports to regain mana, keep frost ward up.Don't: Cast while his spell shield is up, use Frost spells against a member of the Blue Dragonflight
PALADIN - Do: Be ready to heal MT and healers, Keep Blessing of sacrifice on tanks and Wisdom on healers, stay in melee with Azuregos, and keep FR Aura up.Don't: Try to tank, allow MT to die, Use Divine Intervention unless it is a raid-saving emergency.
PRIEST - Do: Focus on MT, Keep eye on other healers, shield tank when neededDon't: Use mind blast, stand too far away form Azuregos, run out of combat without telling backup

Spawns at the gator mouth of Azshara, south east coast. Usually can be graveyard rushed. To initiate the fight you talk to him, and he aggros.When aggro'd his yell could be heard in Ironforge.

Actually you can not hear him spawn from orgrimmar. They changed it he no longer yells when he spawns only when a raid begins the fight with him. Either way though Orgrimmar is much closer and easier to get to him from then Ironforge or any alliance city.Комментарий от thyrfing

We killed him whit 9 guildmates in TBC few weeks ago, It was easy whit all people beeing lvl 70, Took some time though as he has a large amount of HP. The drops haven't changed, for example Unmelting Ice Girdle http://www.wowhead.com/?item=18547 and Typhoon http://www.wowhead.com/?item=18542 dropped.Комментарий от Phosh
Quite easilty 3 mannable now at 70, although it takes a while. Tanking druid (me!), fury warrior and holy specced Paladin dropped him today, took about ~35 mins. Got 45g each.Something cool to do if you want a break from BC instances / farming.

Five manning him still takes forever, but you get a decent amount of gold. Nexus crystals are still needed for enchants like 15 Agility to Gloves as well, and the "production rate" of them is much lower now than it was pre-TBC, and after a while the price will jack right back up.On that note, if you have a mage who stands in blizzard / cleave, an gets owned, they CAN come back to do the same thing again.

The Hunter that soloed him was in FULL TIER 1 which was pretty good pre-BC. It would've been a much easier solo if we was he was using a Bear or a Boar instead of an Owl. myself lvl 70 holy pally name moradin server eonar and a warrior buddy name mcmillan 2 man him whenever he's up. he's usually in full merc or some vengful im in full pve with lower city prayer book and the 40 int stackin mp5 trinket from kara. took us 25 mintues today. its simply enough. keep wisdom on him and make sure to use the seal of wisdom melee as needed. important to get out when he mana storms. at the time of posting this me and mcmillan were messin around so hence the ret spec. will respec to holy once servers go up.it should be said that we're bt/mh geared. we also 3 man ony same set up. me him(again in dps gear dps specceed,never prot) and a warlock. took us 32 minutes because the lock messed up and soul shattered at the wrong time and died at 26 percent.

i was working on compleating my map of the area, and i found this guy, the spirit of him was also there ( http://www.wowhead.com/?npc=15481 ), so i went up and talked to the guy himself, and found a option to say something i hadn't seen before. i thought about it for a moment, and decided the worst that could happen was that he would kill me, and i would take some minor durability damage (i was on an alt at the time).that... was a mistake! when i respawned at the graveyard, i found he had left me with a present, a debuff called Mark of Frost ( http://www.wowhead.com/?spell=23182 ) i have seen what would appear to be a similar debuff from Doomwalker in Shadowmoon Valley, and now idk if i am going to go back to my body to res, i might end up dieing again thanks to that debuff.

Tried this tonight with a few friends. Druid tank, pally heals, fire mage and a lock. Everyone except the mage were in dungeon blues.First off, he seemed to have just under 900k hp as calculated by mobhealth which kinda demoralized us. We got him to ~60% twice but the pally and lock had no raid experience so eventually mistakes got us killed. Of note to tanks, he seems to have a very high resistance to taunt and an absurdly high parry rate. Of the two attempts I had an average of 9% parry across all my attacks. Also, with 24k armor and the attack speed debuff (10 second attack!) I had major rage issues as he was only hitting for around 300. As others have said he's doable, but it takes a fairly long time especially with his apparently buffed health.

When Azuregos is there, he will be 'Yellow' and you are able to talk to him.He will say "You seek to harm me <race>?"
You have an option to say to him "I am a treasure hunter in search of powerful artifacts. Give them to me and you will not be harmed."
If you do talk, you will aggro him.

2 Manned Azuregos today, easy as hell just like the posts above says.First day I killed him was with me, feral druid in dps gear and using cat form.i had a paladin healing me, paladin is the best option if u ask me since they can remove the debuff you get. Took us rougly 22 minutes.
Second day was me again, in dps gear and cat form.Having a resto druid healing me, this took a little longer cause of debuff, about 25 minutes.
Very easy boss to 2-man.We also been 2 and 3 manning Onyxia.And 4 manning the green dragons.
So all the old school bosses are doable, more or less.

Some abilities that you need to be aware of, even at level 70-1. He has a cleave that chains to people nearby and hits for ~1200 on cloth... with poor positioning it can go all the way around him.2. Frost Breath and Manastorm- both AoE abilities that he'll cast near him. They do a little damage and drain mana.3. Chill- Casts this a lot. It affects everyone near him and reduces their movement speed and attack speed.4. He froze our VW several times, but I'm not sure whether or not this is a single target ability or if it's a frontal-AoE ability.5. He'll teleport everyone right on top of him every now and then. You can chose to move back or stay in the middle of his belly. If mana becomes a problem it'd be best to run away, however, since the AoEs near him drain mana.6. Reflection- will reflect any spell you cast onto him back at you. This was another thing that made the fight last longer than it had to. When reflection's up, have your casters use wands instead of spells as they're not affected by reflection.
Actually very easily two-mannable with a 70 warlock/hunter and a healing class.
A warlock friend and my priest went out to see if we could take him down using his VW as a tank. The biggest numbers the blueberry took was ~1100 crits, so nothing too terrible to heal through.
If you use this method, the biggest set-back will be threat; the warlock had to take it easy for the first ten minutes or so, soulshattering every five minutes, to allow for the VW to establish respectable amounts of threat.
The VW will also run out of mana early on, thereby limiting the amount of threat he can generate, and VW mana regen isn't too impressive; if your warlock has Mana Feed it would certainly help with this, though mine did not. I instead popped Symbol of Hope effectively giving the blueberry 1k mana every five minutes.
All in all, it's very easy to do... it just takes a while. He finally fell over after 40 mins- I started throwing on Holy Fires and SW:Ps when I realized how long this would take. If 90g per person, about three Nexus Crystals (can be made into 1 large prismatic if you'd like), and some other blues and greens is worth that much time, go for it. :)

3 man´d By Resto Druid Prot Warrior and SL/SL lock.Kinda funny cus it was first the tank and healer alone, they had about 30 minutes there and only taken about 30%-40% dmg. Midfight the my friend the healer whispers me to come help them. From Blasted lands and hearth on CD i make my way. Once we get him to about 21% the tank falls off a cliff dies and azuregos killed me and teh healer :S.
2nd Attempt went more smoothly and took 34mins 23secs.

I 5manned Azuregos.Astatine-Warlock(lvl 70 Destruction)Mismiss-Paladin(lvl 60 Holy)Brykuu-Paladin(lvl 70 Holy)Blackecho-Mage(lvl 70 Arcane)Archanator-Hunter(lvl 70 Marksman)We started the fight with Achanators' pet tanking we got him donw 10% with minor difficulties.Soon as he was down 10% Mismiss Over aggroed and died and got a debuff that when you go near him again you have a chance of being frozen. So she was frozen for the rest of teh match and couldn't heal.
4 People LeftAstatine was the next to die when he was 15% down So she got the debuff.
3 People LeftOnce He was 30% down Archanators' pet died and Archie had to leave the match to res him
2 People LeftThe aggro was converted on to Astatine(even though she was frozen lol) she then died and got teh debuff again :(
3 People AgainArchanator came back with his pet back and fully functionable They Brought him down after like 30mins xD
So Basically we 3 manned himThis Source Proves that Azuregos is easy for a 25man outdoor raid (lvl 60)Got Some Nice loot of him too :DAstatine-Hellfire.And No wonder Gruumsh soloed him He is T6!!! lol

One pet tanking, the two hunters only with autoshot, the priest keeping the pet alive. Pets are immune to the teleport and the hunters as well as the priest can stay OOR for the teleport.Simple dps and nice gold for not too much time.

Two manned on Earthern Ring by a holy priest (myself) and a fury warrior. It took over 20 minutes but under 30 (I wasn't counting, it was just for fun). Went through a lot of mana pots. The reflect buff he gets is an utter nightmare, as was constantly dispelling a drain on the mana. Teleports weren't a problem. He hit me at about 900 each time so I could run away fast enough for it not being a problem.Got 2 purples, 3 blues, 2 greens and a bag of gems as well as some gold. It was fun, but I enjoy seeing the big guy roaming about more :). Got my own azure whelpling to remind me of him too ;).

Solo'd by a warlock again: Florde of earthen ring today.1027 unbuffed spellpower, 11052hp, 10135mp26/35/0 1871 armor, voidstar talisman, mix of pve+pvp gear. No consumables or cooldowns used, discounting the /use from an icon of the silver crescent.Took approximately 1hr 10m, judged by having to refresh fel armor.~250 dps sustained
No real testing was done, no difficulties. Voidwalker's hp dropped to 20% once or twice due to distractions from tells and phone calls.

4 manned with an arms warrior, ice and fire mage, and resto shaman.As a shaman with poor mana regen and healing gear; use a rank 1 spell on a nearby Mosshoof (deer), they hit for almost nothing but each hit means a proc for your water shield. This will help you endure the length of the fight.

Downed him today with a very poorly geared 70 feral druid (sorry but its true Awfulangus) a 70 resto druid 70 hunter who had to melee the entire fight and a 59 warrior who was there in case anything good dropped for him. Been looking for challenges as a rogue with 61% dodge, 10% parry and a kara geared pally healbot also played by me, but this guy was too challenging. If it wasn't for the teleport, he would be cake.Rarely get hit except when frozen, but when we get teleported together, its too much of a drain on mana when the pally starts getting cleaved/mana drained. It also happens way too often.
10 minutes was the longest I survived before bailing.

Solo tried, Ret Paladin, 6 min got him to 82% before life gave out. Alternated between Seal of Light and Wisdom, Divine Storm and Judge instant Flash of Lights helped, as did Judgements of the Wise. What spec and gear did you hunters who soloed this have? I have 2 t5 for the healing, then mostly the new Badge gear. I tried both with MM spec and BM spec with no success. Also what pet did you use?I got him down like 10-15% depending on a couple of things; 1. When I got teleported when my pet was low it died because I wasn't putting out any healing from 2 t5.2. Sometimes he would crit my pet which often led to the first reason happening.And 3. When my mana ran out and I had to put aotv on, my 2 t5 wasn't suffcient to keep him up. (Yes mend pet was up all the time)

70 resto shaman 2 pieces of merciless and a 70 furry warr full merciless took him. it took us 40 min so he aint the hardest, but the thing when he teleports us in to him was a pain in the ass. just dont heal in the moment and hope the warr aint frozen, but if it happens he doesnt hit the hardest i could easyly survive til warr got aggro. he is very easy to outheal had no problem, but when he teleport us in just run away as the healer(getting out of manablizzard it drains very very much mana) easy duodКомментарий от sardokar63

This is extremely easy to solo as a 80 hunter because of the new mend pet rank. It's a tank and spank. I was BM and used a DPS pet (wolf). Just make sure you keep your distance so you don't get teleported in. Also, make sure that mend pet is up 100% of the time, it shouldn't be hard, use viper if you need the mana for mend pet. Easily soloable as an 80 death knight since we are not affected by manastorm, took about 15min to kill as unholy spec with no pet out. Just don't nuke or icy touch him when spell reflect is up. Soloed today by my feral druid (geared of naxx/badge/blue Hcs), took about 20min fight.Never stayed under 18k hp of my 34k hp, only used Barskin and frenzied regeneration and he hits like a girl: 300-350 autoattack, 400 cleave and 500-650 manastorm-blizzard.Too easy if you know whato do.Dropped 178g, two epics (cloth head and 2h sword) three BoE blues, a bag of gems and four greens.
Easy money but poor diversion. The four Emerald Dream dragons ara a real challenge because Azuregos and Onyxia are only my pre-raid diversion of every week

I have been farming them both for 3 weeks and i find think azuregos is worth about 100-150g more than ony since he drops BoE stuff, also takes less time to kill (i solo them) but in about 1hr 25 min i can kill them both and claim a loot of about 300g in cash and about 250g in BoES so its pretty much useless now since you can make 400g an hour in northrend, but still fun to do hehe, been dual boxing my alts from another accts into ony lately its pretty fun to have noob chars in greens with their t2 helms and random epics,Btw i slolo them with a lvl 80 ret paladin in half naxx 25 half naxx 10 gear. using the respective auras (fire frost) azuregos is easier with an insignia of the horde so u can tirnket out of frost breath every 2 min the rest is done with hand of salv, stay out of the blizzard since it burns 600 mana per tick, burn him with seal of command and judgement of wisdom, when at 20% mana chance go seal of wisdom and judgement of light , spam the instant flash, let him take you to 40% then do a big holy light to top yourself and cast divine plea, then burn a little, its kinda boring but still challenging at the same time every ret paladin should try it hehe

Was exploring Azshara today for achievements when I saw that Azuregos started yelling. So, I finished my explorations, and wandered down to his patrol location. What I found there was an 80 feral druid and some 60 warrior trying to kill him - fair enough, I thought, I'll let 'em have the kill. Eventually (at about 30%) they however got ganked by some random DK, who failed horribly at killing the boss himself, so I stepped up (as the druid/warrior didn't seem to know that the world dragons give ya a stunning debuff after you died to 'em, and tried killing him again immediatly).Proceeded to solo him (I'm a ret paladin, naxx10/25 geared), never went under 70-80% hp when fighting only Azu (actually had to pop a bubble after the druid had tried to kill me twice) judging Light and running from Manastorm. Human racial/imp Hand of Freedom out of stuns, etc.Took about fifteen minutes, easy 160g.
Usually 2 man the emerald dragons/ony and 3/4-man rest of pre-BC raid content, netting some nice gold whilst seeing old wipefest encounters again is cool.

This guy is still extremely hard to solo. Attempted it about 5 times, as a spriest with 2k sp, capped hit, 200 mp5 in combat, yada yada.He has tons of annoying abilities, mostly anti-caster ones, that he uses constantly.
Spell reflect. Its up at least 30% of the time. Lasts 8 seconds or so.
Manastorm - casts this, then usually teleports you into it, right on top of him. Was doing 400 dmg/mana burned simultaneously. Combined with slowing effect = goodbye mana
Frost breath. Used I'd say every 20-30 seconds, stuns target for 4-5 seconds.
Teleport - All people around him, bam, right underneath him.
I attempted this guy 4-5 times, each time doing better. Rotated dispersion and fiend cooldowns, sheilded. With the amount of spell reflection, getting off even at VT > MB for replenishment was hard. Combine this with stuns, teleports, slows that trap you in a mana burning blizzard.
Longest attempt was 48 mins, got him to 43k health. Used 50 spirit exlixir, 12 mp5 food.With ample buffs and patience, I could have brought him down. Last time I died, my gear went fro 100% to broke. :(

Solod as a level 80 Siphon Life/Fel Guard specced warlock.I just pulled out my voidwalker and popped demonic empowerment right at the beginning for some extra threat.
Azuregos' teleport wipes all threat but it doesn't affect your pet so it continues to build threat which means you can go all out. Just be careful of the constant spell reflects. There is no cast time.

Solo'd him at level 70 as a Demonology warlock in crap epics and half blues. I imagine at 80 now, in decent epics, I could tear him to shreds. He doesn't hit very hard or fast, and Felguard's Avoidance mitigates most of the damage from blizzard and cleave. As a lvl 80 BM hunter Azu was ridiculously easy, he never out damages mend pet just stick your gorilla on him and wait it out :)I too happened to wander across him while exploring and went for the oh-why-the-hell-not kill :)

Just soloed him as an 80 enhancement shaman, took 12 minutes.Simple strategy, spell reflect is bad, but stormstrike and lava lash are not affected by it.
Use maelstrom weapon procs to heal.
The only trouble I had was sometimes he would keep the 300% attack speed debuff on me for some time and stun me, limiting my maelstrom procs to pretty much lava lash and stormstrike. Solution to that - just use water shield for mana and keep shamanistic rage as a shield wall (you can use it while stunned/frozen)
Frost resist totem helps tons to resist his slow.
Pretty nice profit of gold and time spent, surprisingly.

He dropped about 155 gold, the epic wand and dagger, a few BoE blues, a couple recipes, some BoE greens, and a bag of gems. Took approximately 15min, summoned my ghoul 3 times throughout the fight to sacrifice for health, popping a single potion and spamming death strike for the healing.The problem with this guy, probably, is the spell reflect - I had my diseases/death coil reflected a few times because I never noticed his spell reflect up.

Quite easy, soloed as a 80 BM hunter, my pet was the Un'Goro T-rex.Just let the pet tank and heal it once in a while. When you run out of mana put Aspect of the viper and keep shooting 'til you refill your mana, then change to Dragonhawk and start all over again.Fight took about 10 mins, with full hc and some naxx 25 epics.
Azurego's hits were nearly harmless to my pet, all of them about 100 - 500 damage each, except some 1k hits.
Loot was about 190golds, 2 BoP lvl 60 epics, a blue mature sinew, 2 BoE blue items, 2 recipes, a druid's book and 3 greens.... Not bad :D

To Angsta:The spirit form does NOT mean he has been recently killed. A couple guildies and I killed him last night and his spirit form was roaming about at the same time. As you will see from the comments about his spirit, the spirit was for a quest for AQ and nothing more.

Either you are a complete and utter liar, or you killed something else that you THOUGHT was Azuregos. Azuregos is a former level 60 RAID boss. He has almost 1 million hit points. There is absolutely no way you solo'd him at level 50.
Now, a couple notes about this guy:
- he appears yellow and thus neutral, so don't worry about aggroing him accidentally. You need to talk to him to start the fight.- he is IMMUNE to ARCANE dmg. I am a resto druid and I had a boomkin friend with me, so needless to say, that sucked. We spammed Wrath non-stop and then he went into cat form when he ran out of mana (as resto I never ran out hehe)- keep an eye out for his spell reflect, as it reflects 100% of spells cast while it is up. If you are a caster, this is when you should be bandaging/healing or even doing a bit of melee dmg.- he has a cleave, so if you are doing this as more than one person, make sure all heals/dps stay behind the boss- be prepared to clear the area first or potentially have to kill a couple of the 52-53 elites that randomly wander around the area- out of the stuff he drops, including boe blues, the most valuable drop is probably the sack of gems (unless you are lucky enough to get a boe epic or recipe). I dont know about other servers, but on my realm old world green gems are worth a lot of gold these days.

If http://www.wowhead.com/?quest=8575 is the quest you are talking about, it is started from http://www.wowhead.com/?item=20949, which you receive from simply talking to Azuregos' spirit.The spirit walks around in the same area as Azuregos does, even at the same time. You can tell which one is the spirit because it is actually called Spirit of Azuregos and looks a little more transparent, kinda like what a shadow priest's mount would look like. Azuregos does *not* need to be dead for you to talk to the spirit, nor do you need to kill him or interact with him in any way. Just talk to the spirit.

Just finished soloing this guy on my lvl 80 holy paladin.... took 40 freakin minutes.I started with all the normal holy pally precautions; I.E. frost resist aura, blessing of wisdom, and seal of wisdom. The couldn't do any damage to me half the time because my Sacred Shield absorbs about 2k damage per proc, so the only problems were his frost breath and his spell reflect. Because he had spell reflect up half the time, i could only pull half my normal dps (around 500 dps for the entirety of the fight.) It was otherwise uneventful, except for the time where I nearly jumped off the edge of the land that we were fighting on.
He dropped 137g, Mature Blue Dragon Sinew, Battlecaller Gauntlets, Feathermoon Headdress, Plans: Radiant Leggings, Gray Sack of Gems (Contained an Azerothian Diamond, a Star Ruby, an Aquamarine, and a Citrine), Plans: Radiant Belt, Prismatic Band of the Owl, Archstrike Bow of the Tiger, Blesswind Hammer of the Monkey, Typhoon, and Drape of Benediction.

I had been hunting this mob for ever. Finally i log on and hes at 10% health. I see its an ally NE DK attacking him and hes got some nice gear.... with about 30k health. I pull him away ( 80 death knight with average gear =me)and kill him before he even knew what hit him. Then i get a random BE hunter and a DK guildie of mine to camp him. We camp him and then fight azuregos. HE keeps ressing and we keep killing him and eventually we win. HAHAHA PWNT. Thats what he gets for going after my dragon. SUCK IT!Комментарий от Sincerity

For a well put together or close group of friends/guildees these are a good source for Classic Epics, and some gold for your guild. It doesn't take much time, and with a good tank, a pair of healers, and a bunch of DPS (We usually groups of 10-15) you can drop these dragons (including a couple of wipes and flight times) in 45 minutes.
Every week or so, my guild and I get together, and usually after dropping Onyxia, we all go and search the spawn points for these boys (and girl) and also for Azuregos.
To make it easy for your reference, on each of these dragons, I have posted a link to the others in case you're wondering what the others can drop, or how to defeat them.

A couple of things.1) I'm not sure if there is any sort of prerequisite but when i talk to the Spirit of Azuregos he only says "My watch is eternal mortal." I have not recieved a ledger.
2) When i entered the zone my chat box read "Azuregos yells: Come, little ones. Face me" Does this mean he is alive? I ran his entire route spamming a /target azuregos macro but came up empty.

VERY worthwhile to solo, in my opinion. As a mostly 25 naxx geared enhance shaman it took me exactly 9 minutes to kill him w/out food buffs or anything. The spell reflection was a bummer at times but most of my Maelstrom Weapon procs were going to Healing Wave anyway. He didn't do enough damage for me to have any mana issues at all. I ended up netting roughly 550g from it:163g looted from the corpse250g for Mature Blue Dragon Sinew sold to some 60 hunter (it's a great quiver until 70 I guess)40g for the 1x Large Opal from the sack of gems50g for the various other gems50g for an Assassination Blade that dropped20g for vendoring Typhoon and Fang of the Mystics
Total = 573 gold.
Not bad at all for 9 minutes of work and a little spamming of trade chat to find a buyer for the sinew =P
Edit: I actually didn't check my combat log or Recount to see if Flametongue Weapon was doing damage to me when his spell reflection was up, but that would be worth looking into if you're thinking about killing him... would definitely make the fight much faster and easier.

I just got done soloing Azuregos today as an 80 MM Hunter. Very simple fight but very long. Took me 25 mins and around 1000 arrows. Every so often he teleported me to right under him. I took very little damage if any at this time, and had my aggro reset to 0. This was quite nice because for a hunter that means that you will very rarely if ever take aggro from your pet. He did a frost breath and a blizzard often, but mend pet easily kept up with the damage to keep my pet alive. Just send your pet in, let him build up some aggro (I just used auto-shoot for the first 5 mins or so), keep mend pet up at all times, and run out and to one of his sides every time he teleports you. I say to one of his sides beacause the frost breath is a frontal aoe as well as the blizzard, and I'm not sure if he does a tail swipe. I found it best to stay at his sides. Soloed him as an 80 BM hunter the other day. I went in it for the $%^&s and giggles myself because I'd been working with Ony the past few weeks and seeing as she's a pain in the butt to get into (The whole you need to be in a Raid group thing is annoying) I went for the next best thing.So, I got him and since recently the last few times I've tried this I was killed by roaming Alliance who wanted his juicy corpse for their own. Finally getting him all to myself, I'll say he went down fairly easy. Though for me, I'm not a raid armored Hunter, I have your normal items (Swiftarrow armor yeah, shoot me) But it's fun and a challenge when you're not all Ubered out. Took me about 45 minutes, of course I wasn't using everything and I had my Cat (Yes, Cat. Not Spirit Beast, he was in stable and I was too lazy to use Call Stable) who put up the best of fights. Makes me remember why I loved my felines. The Bleed and Poison did a good amount of damage and I had to toggle between AotV and AotDH. Mostly to replenish Mana and such. Really, when he hits down below 20% health it's just the task of spamming Kill Shot :P

Feral druid tank at lvl 80:A completely trivial fight. When I first arrived on the scene, Azuregos had already been aggroed by an 80 Pali, who managed to get the dragon down to about 90% before being killed. That worried me at first, but my worries were quickly availed after I started the fight. With no buffs, and no heals, I spent the entire fight rage-starved, and downed him with 98% of my health remaining. I didn't even bother to move out of the mana storms after the first one or two.
The person playing that paladin must have been staring at the screen blankly, with drool running off their chin. I'm no über player, so if I can do this fight solo I'll wager pretty much anybody can....unless you aggro him and then walk away to make a sandwich. Even then, I'd give most people a 50/50 chance.
The fight lasted just about 5 minutes. The gold and loot were alright, but honestly not worth the trip out there.

Anyone soloed him as a shadow priest? I've tried aggroing him once several months ago, but I regretted it later as I was just doing something in Azshara (really hard to recall, as there isn't much to do there anyway) and heard his yells as he wiped someone. He wiped me too in a couple of minutes and I wasn't even able to find him again (quite strange, considering his huge size).This week I've tried Onyxia and even though she wasn't a walk in the park (mainly because of annoying whelps and some mana issues), she went down and payed for my repairs. So wondering if there is any other challenge such as Azuregos that might be soloed by my class and spec.

If you are a hunter and want to solo him take notice that he is immune to arcane damage so the main shot for a BM hunter is rendered useless. Was specced BM when I encountered him last night. He does a summon that is similar to Cyanigosa in VH which is mildy annoying. Other than that it is really simple. Pet keeps aggro while my aggro wiped everytime I was summoned by her. Hardly needed mend pet for my spirit beast but kept the health up at 100% just to be sure. In hindsight it would have been a lot faster if I had my surv spec active. Generally just epic gearStory: Doing discovery achievement in Azshara, and I saw the two spirits (running in each other) I was like, let's just agro it, so I spoke to it, and it charged at me, so I ran off for 30 seconds and it didn't reset, so I was like, I'll try and solo it, so I did.
Tactic: Keep Flameshock up. Then just keep refresing and lava bursting when you can. It'll take 10-15 minutes cos of the reflects and CC but it's very doable.I only died close near the end cos i refelcted flame shock by accident and it was crit dotting me in a CC, but I just healed back up.
Lots of items. 3 epics. and 154 gold. :3.Worth doing weekly.

Easily solo'd as a tanking paladin in 80 blues.You'll want to use blessing of wisdom throughout the fight to help combat his aura. Use Seal of Corruption for DPS bursts and switch to Seal of Light once you hit ~8-10k hp. Divine Plea should never fall off of you. Keep moving out of his manastorm ability and make sure to cleanse spam his attack speed debuff. Solo killed today at 1030 on Khadgar US server as a feral tank specced druid in mixed epics. Just my buffs, took about 7 minutes without using berserk, and Azuregos did appx. 63k damage to me. Frost breath and mana storm were the two most damaging attacks, followed by regular melee.With Leader of the Pack self healing, he never brought me below 97% health. Buff Azuregos!

If you check the information page for the Spirit of Azuregos page in the comments section you will notice that the spirit was originally entered into the game to allow people following a quest chain to talk to Azuregos, even if the actual World Boss was dead.Also, it used to be that you could only interact with the spirit when a ghost yourself (ie. dead). Now you are able to itneract with him when alive however.

Just solo'ed him on my 80 Pally tank, 5190 GS. Hes not a hard fight Seal of Light and Divine Plea hes just a pain when he takes your mana, blood elfs can use there radical to gain some back. Just soloed this guy as a PROTECTION PALADIN, pretty decently geared - 41k unbuffed. All I had to do to keep myself up was Judgement of Light - I had Seal of Light at the beginning, but switched to Vengeance about 75% because it was so slow.BEWARE: Because of Azuregos' attack speed debuff, your SoV stacks can EASILY fall off! If you find that this keeps happening, switching to Seal of Righteousness may be better (especially if you're planning to solo this as Ret!)

The biggest challenge in soloing Azuregos is getting him before someone else does.Extremely easy as a decently geared feral druid - Can take a while due to attack slowdown debuff, but my health was 95% or more for the entire fight. At one point I got up and answered the phone during the fight - if he didn't teleport behind you so you end up facing the wrong way you could go afk and let autoattack finish him off.
No real strategy involved - I just kept my lacerates up for extra damage and mangled and mauled till he was dead.

Just incase a fellow Warlock would like to solo this guy, its quite easy with a Felguard.Send in the felguard and stand to the side of the dragon.Every so often he drags you in, so as you start, set up a portal so when he does, portal out quick.
He also puts up a spell reflect, stop casting. The is a nice chance to heal your Fel Guard if needed, seen as you can't do anything else. Of course set up dots prior to this so they can tick away nicely.
If you take damage, use Drain Life when reflect is down
A note on aggro, not sure when it is but your aggro seems to reset, but not the demon's, so don't hold back when the reflect is down.
This was done at level 80, with mostly ICC10/25 gear. Not really hard, and took me about 6mins, the portal duration

Was doing some old missed quests on my lvl 80 shadowpriest in azshara when i heard Azuregos respawn. Looked him up here and saw other people soloing him, so what the heck i gave it a shot. First attempt i didnt really get the whole "manastorm" deal, so with him at about 15% i ran out of mana badly and died. No mana, no damage, no vampiric healing.Did a few quests while the debuff wore off, then went back and tried again, now knowing what to do. And it was a walk in the park. Killed him this morning, Pretty much faceroll as icc25 geared SV hunter. keep mding pet and fd whenever you get high on threat. pet barely needs any healing. took me about 3,5minutes to kill.dropped 145g, sack of gems, lots of greens and blues and 2 epic weapons, aswell as the mature blue dragon sinew so i can finally make my quiver. I just soloed him with a 5800gs and a lvl 60 rogue who did 399 dps, still a solo, in my opinion. The rogue died twice during the encounter. Took several minutes, was not in danger of dying at all at any time. He doesn't even hit you it seem, I just MD'd to my pet, who was never below 85% health. The ability that brings you into melee is not a problem, since I just disengaged and was back at range, the frequency of that ability is less than the CD of disengage. No epic BOE drops, they were BOP and blues and greens and some lvl 60 gems. Definitely worth farming. I will be back in 5 days, and not sharing with a noob.Комментарий от Sithz

I soloed this one with really bad gear (150-200) and was a little bit dfficult, I wiped first time and then I killed him. The most difficult part is when he enrages because I didn't have time to heal myself and refresh the diseases but with some potions and cooldowns I killed him. 14 minutes and a good reward: 3 low level epics, 1 green and 189 gold.Obviously I soloed this with a Death Knight, blood/unholy spec (with the ghoul)Good luck!

Killed him today, as of patch 4.0.1. I am a lvl 80 Retribution paladin and i didn't have any real issues with him. Due to slackyness and tiredness i had to pop Lay on Hands though.Loots:
146g 86s 93c
3 Epic items (Including Mature Blue Dragon Sinew)2 BoE Blue items3 Green items1 Yellow sack of gems1 LW Pattern1 Alchemist Recipe
This means his loots haven't been nerfed :) (Yet)

For some crazy reason, I decided to solo this as an 80 Resto Shaman. It took probably 30-40 minutes. Would have gone faster as elemental or enhancement (or if I had bothered to try to avoid any of his spells/work around the reflects), but I wasn't sure what to expect and wanted to be able to quickly heal myself as needed. Never had any mana issues. Got low on health a couple times, but nothing too serious. Used earth and fire elementals while off cooldown where possible.Not really sure if the reward was worth the time, but it was fun to try it. Might have to bug a friend to come along again sometime to speed things up. My loot results were basically the same as Noseman above (gold received was 151g 34s 43c).

I was fortunate to find Azuregos spawned yesterday. Killing him solo as a BM hunter was surprisingly trivial (with ~250 level gear). Took five or so minutes, with my Turtle pet almost never dropping below 95% health without even mending him. Too bad he's immune to arcane damage; I used Multishot as a focus dump instead of Arcane Shot.Azuregos drops a ton of loot! Two epic armor items, a Mature Blue Dragon Sinew, three bind-on-equip Rare items, a sack of (three) gems, I think a trash item or two, and about 165 gold cash.
I was hoping for an Eskander's Left Claw to pair with the Right which I recently obtained from the Molten Core, but no luck on that score. Not too many chances for getting the Left claw remaining before the Shattering!

Surprisingly difficult to solo as a blood DK. The hard thing is that his 300% reduced attack speed debuff affects your runes, slowing their regeneration to a near halt. Which will make your self heals very infrequent.I believe it's safe to say that the soloists...*puts on glasses*...have been solo'd.YEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH

Azuregos is no longer kill-able.Edit: At least to me, I'm not sure but I think the azuregos quest chain makes him turn friendly.

When Azuregos was first discovered, it was often mass chaos in Azshara. Horde and Alliance guilds would battle over the fight. It was tough to make an attempt without getting ganked by enemies.It was entertaining enough to just stand back and watch from afar. Who knew what loot that huge dragon would cough up? Good times...

Azuregos was briefly resurrected (and promptly killed, multiple times) for World of Warcraft's 13th Anniversary.He drops the following unique items:
- Typhoon (Ret Paladin, Arms & Fury Warrior, Blood & Unholy Death Knight)
- Fang of the Mystics (Mage, Warlock, Priest, Balance & Resto Druid, Ele & Resto Shaman)
- Unmelting Ice Girdle (Paladin, Warrior, Death Knight)
- Acid Inscribed Pauldrons (Paladin, Warrior, Death Knight)
Other items share a transmogrification appearance with other items still available in-game:
- Drape of Benediction - Back
- Snowblind Shoes - Cloth Feet
- Crystal Adorned Crown - Cloth Head
- Cold Snap - Wand
- Ring of Ancient Arcana - Ring
- Mana-Frosted Pauldrons - Mail Shoulder

In terms of the fight, very similar to the original except you no longer get the 15 minute debuff. The dragon still resets aggro (with taunts not working for several seconds) on Чародейский вакуум, when people get teleported under him. Spells sometimes are reflected.
Note that the dragon breath and blizzards can do a lot of damage to lower level characters.
